Alpha-1 50th anniversary events

In April 1963, Swedish researchers Carl-Bertil Laurell and Sten Eriksson published their discovery of Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. We’re planning many events to mark the 50th anniversary of the discovery in 2013.

The Foundation’s flagship awareness and fundraising event, the 13th annual Celebration of Life golf tournament and dinner-dance, will be held Friday, April 26.

International Alpha-1 Patient Congress, Barcelona
The international highlight of them all: Alphas and Alpha-1 patient groups from many countries will attend the 4th International Alpha-1 Patient Congress and an International Research Conference in Barcelona, Spain, April 11-13.
A group of Alphas from the United States will be traveling to Barcelona. For more information contact Angela McBride at amcbride@alpha-1foundation.org
