National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) Updates


National Survey of Family Growth (NSFG) updates from the National Center for Health Statistics.

Two new reports, “Contraceptive Methods Women Have Ever Used:  United States, 1982-2010” and “Use of Emergency Contraception Among Women Aged 15-44:  United States, 2006-2010” are now available on the NSFG webpage www.cdc.gov/nchs/nsfg.htm or more directly at  http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/nhsr/nhsr062.pdf and http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/data/databriefs/db112.pdf
The first report, by NSFG analysts, Kimberly Daniels, William Mosher, and Jo Jones describes trends and differences in contraception methods women have ever used and discontinuation of selected methods due to dissatisfaction.  The second report, by NSFG analysts, Kimberly Daniels, Jo Jones, and Joyce Abma, describes trends and differences in use of emergency contraception, frequency of use, and reasons for use.  If you have any questions, please contact one of the study authors or the NSFG team at nsfg@cdc.gov or 301-458-4222.
