A Research Fellowship is immediately available in Dr. Arifa Khan’s laboratory, Chief of Molecular Retrovirology Unit, Laboratory of Retroviruses, CBER, FDA at the NIH Campus, Bethesda, Maryland.
The ongoing work involves investigations of advanced nucleic acid-based virus detection technologies with focus on development of enhanced bioinformatic pipelines and databases for detection of novel viruses. A major focus will be a collaborative effort towards development of a curated virus screening database.
This position is a research fellowship through the Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education (ORISE).

Qualifications:Eligible candidates should have a master’s degree, doctoral degree, or equivalent. Expertise in virology including retroviruses and retrotranspons is preferred along with some experience in interrogating sequence databases.

Location:
The lab is located on the main campus of the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, Maryland.

Salary:
Candidates will be offered a competitive salary depending on their experience.
