PACHA Passes Two Spirit and Transgender Resolutions and Discusses the Stigma Index

The Presidential Advisory Council on HIV/AIDS (PACHA) met in Washington, D.C. on February 7 – 8, 2013 to discuss a range of issues that impact the HIV/AIDS epidemic. The presentations also included the following topics: understanding the epidemic in the transgender and Two Spirit communities; the criminalization of HIV/AIDS, high impact prevention; and the Stigma Index Exit Disclaimer and the impact of stigma and discrimination in the HIV/AIDS community.
AIDS.gov had the opportunity to sit down with a few of the presenters to have a conversation about the issues they addressed at the meeting.
This video features PACHA member Jack Jackson, Jr. as well as Harlan Pruden from the NorthEast Two Spirit Society, discussing the Two Spirit resolution passed at the meeting.

This video features Eric Sawyer from UNAIDS and Laurel Sprague from the Global Network of People Living with HIV in North America, and discusses their PACHA presentation about the Stigma Index and the impact of stigma and discrimination in HIV.
