(HealthDay News) -- Neck pain can indicate a minor injury or falling asleep in an awkward position. In other cases, it may indicate something more serious.
The American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons says you should visit a doctor if your neck pain:
  • Persists despite no known injury.
  • Is severe.
  • Is accompanied by pain radiating to the arms or legs.
  • Is accompanied by numbness, a tingling sensation, weakness or headache.
