Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) sent this bulletin at 07/15/2013 08:47 PM EDT CDC's CVX Mapped to Vaccine Group table email subscription service. This information has recently been updated, and is now available at http://www2a.cdc.gov/vaccines/IIS/IISStandards/vaccines.asp?rpt=vg
The CVX Mapped to Vaccine Group table is being updated to correct the uncertain formulation CVX codes for pneumococcal vaccines. Previously pneumococcal vaccines were all placed under the same vaccine group. But this is being changed because pneumococcal conjugate vaccines and pneumococcal polysaccharide vaccines have separate immunological goals and so need to be split into separate vaccine groups

• Each of the PCV vaccines is associated with the unspecified formulation for PCV (CVX 152)
• The PPV vaccine does not have an associated unspecified formulation vaccine.
