Disaster Distress Helpline Provides Immediate Counseling

SAMHSA's Disaster Distress Helpline (1-800-985-5990) can provide immediate counseling to anyone who needs help in dealing with problems related to the wildfires in Arizona. The Helpline is a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week resource that responds to people who need crisis counseling after experiencing a natural or manmade disaster or tragedy.

SAMHSA's Service to Science (STS) Initiative Call for Nominations

The purpose of the STS Initiative is to enhance the evaluation capacity of programs and practices addressing substance abuse prevention and related behavioral health needs. SAMHSA's Collaborative for the Application of Prevention Technologies is currently seeking nominations of programs that may benefit from the educational and technical assistance opportunities provided through the STS Initiative.
