SAMHSA Awards up to $750,000 in Grants To Improve Opioid Treatment Programs' Electronic Health Record-Keeping Systems

These systems will allow the opioid treatment programs to fulfill their regulatory requirements, achieve certified status, and become interoperable with other patient health record systems.
SAMHSA is asking representatives from opioid treatment programs, accreditation organizations, patient groups, the medical community, and other interested members of the public to review and comment on these preliminary guidelines. Deadline: July 16.
SAMHSA's Disaster Distress Helpline (1-800-985-5990) can provide immediate counseling to anyone who needs help in dealing with problems related to the wildfires in Arizona. The Helpline is a 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week resource that responds to people who need crisis counseling after experiencing a natural or manmade disaster or tragedy.
The purpose of the STS Initiative is to enhance the evaluation capacity of programs and practices addressing substance abuse prevention and related behavioral health needs. SAMHSA's Collaborative for the Application of Prevention Technologies is currently seeking nominations of programs that may benefit from the educational and technical assistance opportunities provided through the STS Initiative. Deadline: July 26.
