September is National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month

We can create healthy communities for children to live, learn, and play
National Childhood Obesity Awareness Month
Data reported recently in CDC’s Vital Signs showed the first signs of a small decline in the rate of childhood obesity among low-income preschoolers in the U.S. Despite this promising news, still about 1 in 8 preschoolers and 17% of all children are obese in this nation.
There is no single or simple solution to childhood obesity. It is influenced by many different factors, including a lack of access to healthy food and drinks as well as limited opportunities for physical activity in the places where children live, learn, and play. Working together, states, communities, and parents can help make the healthy choice the easy choice for children and adolescents.
