Person/family-centered planning has emerged as a recovery-oriented practice designed to help people who have behavioral health conditions and their families by engaging them in the process of planning for desired services and supports. Defined as a process, person/family-centered planning is directed by a person in recovery and his or her family (or other supports) with the intention of identifying the person’s strengths, goals, needs, and preferences.
The purpose of this webinar is to present the practice and philosophy of person/family-centered recovery planning.
This webinar will:
  • Present an overview of person/family-centered planning.
  • Describe models of person/family-centered planning for people with mental health and/or substance use disorders.
  • Discuss the range of services and supports that people and their families want to have available as they strive to accomplish their goals.
  • Discuss peer-parent support roles within each model.
