The CDC Laboratory Training Branch (LTB) provides contemporary professional development programs, training for timely transfer of new laboratory protocols, preemptive emergency response instruction and innovative training programs for the public health and clinical laboratory workforce. LTB collaborates with internal CDC subject matter experts (SME), federal agencies, and external organizations to maximize the impact of laboratory professional development programs through evaluation of all educational activities, evidence based instructional design, an extensive distribution network, and timely alerts to public health and clinical laboratories to prepare for emerging public health threats.
Training activities are developed to provide basic, intermediate, and advanced level instruction for the public health and clinical laboratorian audience. Courses are developed in a variety of modalities to address skill and budget requirements. Modalities include hands-on laboratory workshops, eLearning, teleconferences, webinars, and seminars. CDC LTB uses TRAIN as a learning management system for course management and distribution. More >>
