Stroke May Take Three Quality Years off of Life
(Ivanhoe Newswire) – A stroke may take three out of five quality years off of your life, according to research from the UK.

The study questioned over 1,000 people who suffered from either a stroke or a transient ischemic attack about their quality of life for five years. The questionnaire puts numerical values on quality and utility in order to quantify life quality. People who had a stroke, out of a possible 5 years of quality life, on average lost 1.71 years due to an early death and another 1.08 years due to poorer life quality, totaling 2.79 fewer years. Those who suffered from minor strokes lost 2.06 years, moderate strokes lost 3.35 years, and severe strokes lost 4.3 years.
