Spotlight on the E-learning Institute

This month the CDC Learning Connection Spotlight features the E-learning Institute (ELI) Pilot, an innovative 18-week virtual course sponsored in collaboration with the Public Health Foundation.  Read the story of how ELI helped education and training staff from 7 state and local health departments gain the skills necessary to create quality e-learning through a curriculum based on the CDC E-learning Essentials suite of products.

E-learning from NIOSH: Workplace Violence Prevention for Nurses

This new free online course, developed by National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), trains nurses  and other healthcare professionals to recognize the scope and nature of healthcare workplace violence. This multi-media training helps participants learn  how to apply strategies and skills to prevent and respond to healthcare workplace violence. The course has 13 units; each takes approximately 15 minutes to complete.   Continuing education is available. Access the course to learn more.

Million Hearts® is a national initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes by 2017. Million Hearts® brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country to fight heart disease and stroke.
