The figure above shows the percentage of office-based physicians with electronic health record (EHR) systems in the United States during 2006–2013. From 2006 to 2013, the percentage of physicians using any EHR system increased 168%, from 29.2% to 78.4% in 2013. Nearly half of physicians (48.1%) were using the more comprehensive “basic system” by 2013, up from 10.5% in 2006.
