Diabetes Alert Day is March 25, 2014In support of American Diabetes Association Alert Day®, the NDEP is encouraging people to take the Diabetes Risk Test to know their risk for type 2 diabetes. Join NDEP and NKDEP to Promote National Kidney Month this March Did you know that diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure? Join NDEP and the National Kidney Disease Education Program (NKDEP) in sharing important information about diabetes and kidney disease.
March is also National Nutrition Month®The theme for National Nutrition Month® 2014 is "Enjoy the Taste of Eating Right." Making healthy food choices is an important step for maintaining a healthy weight to prevent or manage diabetes. Share NDEP’s Healthy Eating with Diabetes video, and/or view and download delicious, diabetes-friendly recipes (temporarily not available for ordering) to encourage healthy eating habits.
Exploring Diabetes HealthSenseNDEP's Diabetes HealthSense online tool can help you find resources to support people in making changes to live well – whether they have diabetes or not. Check out one of the resources included in this online tool: The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Be Active Your Way guide, to help people move more to lose weight and lower their chances of getting type 2 diabetes.
