New MMWR: Evidence-Based HIV/STD Prevention Intervention for Black Men Who Have Sex with MenThis report summarizes published findings of a community-based organization in New York City that evaluated and demonstrated the efficacy of the Many Men, Many Voices human immunodeficiency virus /sexually transmitted disease prevention intervention in reducing sexual risk behaviors and increasing protective behaviors among black men who have sex with men.
New MMWR: Community-Based Program to Prevent HIV/STD Infection Among Heterosexual Black Women This report describes successful efforts by SisterLove, Inc., to develop, rigorously evaluate, and demonstrate the efficacy of Healthy Love, a 3-4–hour interactive, educational workshop, to reduce HIV- and sexually transmitted disease-related risk behaviors among heterosexual black women.
Updated Fact Sheet: HIV and Viral HepatitisThis fact sheet discusses coinfection of HIV and Viral Hepatitis. People with HIV infection are disproportionally affected by viral hepatitis. About 80% of people with HIV who inject drugs also have hepatitis C virus (HCV). HIV coinfection more than triples the risk for liver disease, liver failure, and liver-related death from HCV.
