May is Older Americans MonthAdults over age 60 have a greater chance of developing type 2 diabetes. This Older Americans Month, share resources from NDEP such as the It's Not Too Late to Prevent Type 2 Diabetes tip sheet to help older adults prevent the disease. 
This Mother's Day, Help Women with a History of Gestational Diabetes Take Steps to Prevent or Delay Type 2 DiabetesIn support of Mother's Day (May 11) and National Women's Health Week (May 11–17), the NDEP is reminding women with a history of gestational diabetes about their lifelong risk for getting type 2 diabetes. Visitwww.YourDiabetesInfo.org/GDM for resources you can use to raise awareness about gestational diabetes. 
During Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month, Share Diabetes Prevention Materials Tailored for Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders The NDEP has resources to support Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders prevent or manage diabetes like the Two Reasons I Find Time to Prevent Diabetes: My Future and Theirs tip sheet and Preventing Diabetes for Our Future and Theirs: The Diabetes Epidemic among Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders feature article. May is also Healthy Vision MonthDuring Healthy Vision Month, help people with diabetes learn about the importance of maintaining their eye health. Use educational materials from the National Eye Institute to help people in your community. 
Register for the webinar “Diabetes, Distress, and Depression: Incorporating the Emotional Side of Diabetes into Clinical Care” Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 1PM EDT Dr. Lawrence Fisher will suggest strategies for integrating the emotional side of diabetes into regular diabetes care. This approach can reduce confusion between depression and distress so that appropriate and targeted patient-centered interventions can occur.

Exploring Diabetes HealthSenseThe NDEP’s Diabetes HealthSense online tool provides resources to support people in making changes to live well – whether they have diabetes or not. Find resources such as the National Institute on Aging’s Go4Life program, which aims to help older adults become and stay physically active.
