8th International Workshop on Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia and Symposium on Advances in Multiple Myeloma Park Plaza Westminster Bridge, London, UK August 13-17, 2014 The 8th International Workshop for Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia and Symposium on Advances in Multiple Myeloma is scheduled to be held from August 13-17, 2014 at the Park Plaza Westminster Hotel, in beautiful historic London, UK. We expect the attendance to be similar to our previous workshop (IWWM-7, Newport, RI), which was attended by over 250 scientists and research staff. IWWM-8 will include 12 sessions with 50 technical presentations, 2 "Great Debate" sessions with 8 debates (4-MM, 4-WM), 35 poster presentations, including a 2-hour poster session with oral presentations of accepted posters, a special Saturday luncheon lecture, and 4 "Task Force" discussions on various topics in WM. IWWM-7 was our most comprehensive meeting to date, and we expect IWWM-8 to continue to build on this progress. These meetings reflect the continued growth in investigators working on the genetic basis, pathogenesis, and treatment of WM. Since the IWWM began in 2000, the number of participating investigators has steadily grown, as have also the number of WM related publications including those arising from the IWWM which have been published in the New England Journal of Medicine, Blood, Clinical Lymphoma Myeloma, Haematologica, Journal of Clinical Oncology, and Seminars in Oncology. IWWM-8 will continue to reflect the ongoing research regarding Biomarkers and their role as major contributors to WM. We hope the IWWM-8 will enrich each attendees understanding of Waldenstrom's Macroglobulinemia, and will help foster discoveries leading to its cure.
