Clinicians (physicians, nurses, and 4th-year medical students) are needed to facilitate exercises in a mock Ebola treatment unit (ETU) for CDC's Safety Training Course for Healthcare Workers Going to West Africa in Response to the 2014 Ebola Outbreak. Trainers will guide fellow clinicians in donning and doffing PPE and coach them through exercises to help prepare them for patient care in a real ETU in West Africa. It's a unique opportunity to contribute to the Ebola response with a short-term commitment and to meet, instruct, and get to know the compassionate clinicians who will soon go to West Africa. Learn more about eligibility criteria, course dates, and how to volunteer.

The HuGENet Case Studies series was created to train health professionals in the practical application of human genome epidemiology (HuGE). Human genome epidemiology translates gene discoveries to disease prevention by integrating population-based data on gene-disease relationships and interventions. Students will acquire conceptual and practical tools for critically evaluating the growing scientific literature in specific disease areas. Use these web-based case studies to sharpen your epidemiologic skills and enhance your knowledge of genomic variation and human diseases.
