NIAID Study of VSV Ebola Vaccine Shows No Transmission Threat to Livestock
The ongoing Ebola outbreak in West Africa has resulted in fast-tracking of vaccine candidates. Vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV), which can cause severe disease in livestock, is not a threat to people and therefore has been tested as a vaccine delivery system. An NIAID study of a VSV-based Ebola vaccine shows no threat of VSV spillover to livestock.
