Whether on their first deployment or their fifth, service members can feel the impact of deployment-related stressors. The primary responsibility of the Behavioral Health Department at the NATO Role 3 Multinational Medical Unit at Kandahar Airfield, Afghanistan, is to mitigate and treat the stressors that arise in a forward-deployed environment.

The DoD Patient Safety Program team is gearing up for Patient Safety Awareness Week, March 8-14 – a national education and awareness-building campaign led by the National Patient Safety Foundation.

This Sentinel Event Spotlight addresses recent wrong site surgery dental events reported to the Patient Safety Analysis Center focusing on wrong-side anesthesia administration and wrong-side treatment.
