   Hypoplastic left heart syndrome (HLHS) is a birth defect that affects blood flow on the left side of the heart. Dr Jack Rychik, MD, Director of the Fetal Heart Program and Professor of Pediatrics at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, says what then happens is the right ventricle tries to do the job of the left and it is very dangerous but he has a new technique for the highest risk patients.
