Join by July 15: Improving Care for Mechanically Ventilated Patients

Join by July 15: Improving Care for Mechanically Ventilated Patients

AHRQ--Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality: Advancing Excellence in Health Care

Hospitals with adult acute-care ICUs are invited to collaborate on an AHRQ-funded national project to improve care for patients on mechanical ventilation. Sign up by July 15 by submitting a letter of commitment.
There is no fee to participate in this effort, led by Johns Hopkins’ Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. Over the course of roughly one year, participating units will work to prevent both short-term harms, such as ventilator-associated pneumonia, and long-term problems, including physical disabilities, lingering cognitive dysfunction and psychiatric issues.
Orientation will begin in late July.
