This month is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness and empower everyone to work together to stop suicidal thoughts and behaviors before they happen.
What You Need To Know
  • Over 494,169 people with self-inflicted injuries were treated in U.S. emergency departments in 2013.
  • 1.3 million adults attempt suicide each year.
  • There are 25 suicide attempts on average per suicide.
  • Of those who survive, less than 15% attempt suicide again.
