Chronic Kidney Disease and Diabetes
Diabetes is both a major cause of chronic kidney disease (CKD) and a risk factor for CKD progression. The prevalence of diabetes in the older CKD population has increased over the past 12 years. As of 2011-2012, more than one-third of CKD patients have diabetes.
