Up to $750,000 Available in a Cooperative Agreement To Support the Establishment of a Southeast Asia Regional HIV Addiction Technology Transfer Center

The purpose of this program is to establish an Addiction Technology Transfer Center that builds the regional capacity in Southeast Asia. It will increase the abilities of the President's Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief and establish partners in the national HIV/AIDS programs of countries in Southeast Asia through training, technical assistance, and more.

Up to $11.4 Million Available in Targeted Capacity Expansion Peer-To-Peer Grants

The purpose of this program is to expand and enhance service capacity through the provision of peer-recovery support services for those individuals with substance use disorders and their family members.

Up to $13.2 Million Available for Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) Grants

The purpose of this program is to implement SBIRT services for adults in primary care and community health settings for substance misuse and substance use disorders (SUDs). This program is designed to expand and enhance the state and tribal continuum of care for SUD services and reduce consumption of alcohol and other drugs.






















































Report Shows Adolescents' Marijuana Use Largely Unchanged

According to SAMHSA's National Survey on Drug Use and Health, the estimated national rate of marijuana use by persons ages 12–17 held at 7.2 percent in the previous month. The previous survey, covering 2012–2013, also showed that 7.2 percent of adolescents had used marijuana in the previous month.

The Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant Is Still Important Even With the Expansion of Medicaid

The SAMHSA block grants serve as a safety net for individuals without health insurance or other resources who seek specialty substance use treatment and prevention services.
