NIH-Funded Study Finds

Critical Population Adheres

to PrEP with Coordinated

Care

A large NIH-funded study finds black men who have sex with men (BMSM) in the United States are likely to accept and adhere to pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) for HIV prevention when also taking advantage of a client-centered coordinated care program. This research builds on an earlier study that found a disproportionately high incidence of HIV among gay and bisexual black men and supported the need for prevention programs specifically tailored to this at-risk population.
