Epilepsy and Seizures in Older Adults

Did you know that epilepsy is more likely to develop in older adults compared to younger adults? Seizures can be hard to recognize in older adults, and many go unnoticed. Learn:
  • What seizures may look like in an older adult.
  • Risk factors for epilepsy as we age.
  • Resources for caregivers, including the CDC-supportedSeniors and Seizures training from the Epilepsy Foundation.

Updates to our Funding Announcement

CDC released a new, non-research funding opportunity announcement (FOA) in December 2015 to fund programs, services, and activities that improve health and quality of life for people with epilepsy. Applications are due April 7, 2016.
The website is updated regularly with questions and answers about the FOA.
