Help Us Promote Snack Shack! FDA’s New Tool that Teaches Youth about the Nutrition Facts Label
Whyville
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) announces today the launch of Snack Shack, the newest destination in the popular Whyville online community. The award-winning Whyville offers more than 100 free games to 7 million registered “citizens” ranging in age from 8 to 15. Now, young citizens in Whyville can practice label reading in the online community to develop new skills for making smart snack choices in the real world, using the engaging and fun Label Lingo and Snack Sort games.
We need YOUR help to spread the word and engage youth in learning good nutrition habits for a lifetime!
You can help promote the Snack Shack by:
  • Checking out our Snack Shack Social Media Toolkit (attached), which includes key hashtags, sample tweets, graphics, and more ways you can promote this new educational tool.
  • Retweeting and sharing our Snack Shack tweets, posts, and pins on Twitter @FDAFoodFacebookand Pinterest. So follow the FDA, and keep a look out for our posts and tweets this week!
Visit the Snack Shack today at http://snackshack.whyville.com and help us spread the word! You can also find many other resources on the Nutrition Facts Label on FDA’s website.
Thank you!
NOTE: FDA is proposing to update the Nutrition Facts label for packaged foods and the Whyville Snack Shack games will be updated accordingly. For more information, see Proposed Changes to the Nutrition Facts Label.
