The February issue of Health Communication Science Digest (HCSD or Digest) is now available athttp://www.cdc.gov/
This month the Digest contains many articles that examine various message design issues (Kreuzmair et al.; Kim and Nan; Nelson et al.; Paek et al.; Roh and Niederdeppe; Strekalova and James) and other topics pertaining to designing communication campaigns (Falk et al.; Hatfield et al.; Ho et al.). On a related topic, Moran et al., promote an ecological framework for conducting communication interventions and research.
This month’s Digest also includes three studies reporting on the findings of systematic reviews on food advertising’s effects on consumption behavior, STD communication campaigns, and provider communications on HPV vaccines (Boyland et al.; Friedman et al.; Gilkey and McRee). Articlesinvestigating health information seeking in different contexts also appear in the Digest (Bjarnadottit et al.; Lee and Hawkins; van der Tempel et al.).
Finally, an investigation reporting on an HIV testing intervention (Solorio et al.), a report describing the use of Facebook by state health departments (Jha et al.), and a scale validation study for measuring viewer engagement in videos (Visser et al.) wrap up this month’s Digest.
