CDC Safe Healthcare Blog: When it comes to clean hands, what’s really important?

Today on CDC’s Safe Healthcare Blog, Angela Vassallo, APIC Communications Committee member, talks about the factors that are really important when it comes to hand hygiene in patient care – technique, consistency, and adherence. Vassallo shares a fun exercise called The Finger Paint Method to help healthcare providers assess and make improvements in their own hand hygiene practice.
Thursday, May 5th, was World Hand Hygiene Day. CDC launched a new “Clean Hands Count” campaign urging healthcare professionals, patients, and patients’ loved ones to prevent healthcare-associated infections by keeping their hands clean.
