NIAID Researchers Seek People with Chronic Mucocutaneous Yeast Infections
Yeast is a fungus that lives almost everywhere, including in the human body where the immune system usually keeps it under control. Current treatment options are limited and resistance to them can develop. NIAID researchers in Bethesda, Maryland, are seeking people with chronic mucocutaneous candidiasis who are not responding to standard non-intravenous treatment to volunteer in a clinical research trial to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of an oral medication.
