AHRQ’s Effective Health Care Program posted today a publication that summarizes the current state of evidence related to the diagnosis of celiac disease. AHRQ-funded researchers performed a systematic review of 60 individual studies and 13 previous systematic reviews published from January 1990 through March 2015 to evaluate the evidence regarding the balance of sensitivity and specificity, and possible adverse consequences (both direct and indirect) of various methods used to diagnose celiac disease. The clinical summary publication is available here
