DCPC Leaders Attend CPCRN Spring Meeting

The Cancer Prevention and Control Research Network (CPCRN) had its 2017 Spring Meeting in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on May 23 and 24. CDC attendees included Anatasha Crawford, Lisa Richardson, Arica White, and Mary White. Mary White presented on measuring the impact of the CPCRN, and Lisa Richardson presented on how DCPC's strategic priorities could frame CPCRN's work.
The CPCRN is a national network of academic, public health, and community partners who work together to reduce the burden of cancer, especially among those disproportionately affected. Its members conduct community-based participatory cancer research across its ten network centers, crossing academic affiliations and geographic boundaries. The CPCRN is a thematic research network of the Prevention Research Centers (PRCs), which are CDC's flagship program for preventing and controlling chronic diseases.

DCPC Scientist Presents at Cancer Consortium Meeting

At the recent Delaware Cancer Consortium annual meeting, Comprehensive Cancer Control Branch health scientist Mary Puckett presented on reducing the risk of some cancers through physical activity. She was one of the guest speakers during the Division of Nutrition, Physical Activity, and Obesity's peer networking call.

NPCR Releases XMLExchange Plus

DCPC's National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) has released a new product, XMLExchange Plus. Part of the Registry Plus™ suite of software for cancer registries, XMLExchange Plus converts data files into a new XML standard data format.
