Valley fever (coccidioidomycosis) is an infection caused by the fungus Coccidioides. In 2015, there were over 11,000 reported cases of Valley fever in the United States, primarily in the Southwest. In observance of Fungal Disease Awareness Week (August 14-18), we present “Valley Fever: Timely Diagnosis, Early Assessment, and Proper Management.” Hear from three experts as they discuss risk factors and symptoms.
