New Supplement Highlights Cancer Prevention in Young Adults

DCPC sponsored a special supplement to the American Journal of Preventive Medicine that looks at ways to reduce cancer risk during early adulthood. A number of DCPC authors contributed articles.

Webinar Will Focus on Cancer in Rural Areas

S. Jane Henley, MSPH, will lead a webinar called “Rural Cancer: Data, Disparities, and Determination - Insights from the CDC MMWR Rural Health Series” on Wednesday, August 30 at 1:00 p.m. Eastern time. The webinar, sponsored by the Rural Health Information Hub along with CDC, the National Cancer Institute (NCI), and the Federal Office on Rural Health Policy, will also feature speakers from NCI and the Texas A&M Health Science Institute. Public Use Database Covers 100% of U.S. Population

CDC has released a new public use research database, NPCR and SEER Incidence – United States Cancer Statistics database, that provides cancer data from all 50 U.S. states, Washington D.C., and Puerto Rico in a new format. This is the first time combined data from the CDC’s National Program of Cancer Registries (NPCR) and NCI’s Surveillance, Epidemiology, and End Results (SEER) program have been made available in this format.
