New AHRQ Views Blog Post – AHRQ’s Role in Combating Obesity

A new AHRQ Views blog post highlights the agency’s ongoing efforts to curb childhood obesity, which HHS Secretary Tom Price, M.D., has identified as one of the nation’s most pressing health challenges. The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force recently used an AHRQ-funded evidence review as the basis for its recommendation statement that encourages health providers to screen for obesity in children and teenagers. In addition, a number of measures in the Pediatric Quality Measures Program focus on addressing the issue of childhood obesity. Access the blog post, “AHRQ’s Role in Combating Obesity,” by Iris Mabry-Hernandez, M.D., M.P.H., senior advisor of childhood obesity initiatives at AHRQ.
