Preparing for a Hurricane or Tropical Storm

Hurricane Harvey: Emergency Management Officials have requested that people escaping flood waters as a last resort do not stay in the attic. If the highest floor of your home becomes dangerous…get on the roof. Call 911 for help and stay on the line until answered. Listen to local advisories for more information and be careful to never drive through flood waters. You can’t stop a tropical storm or hurricane, but you can take steps now to protect you and your family.

If you live in coastal areas at risk, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) encourages you to begin preparing yourself for hurricane season. The Atlantic hurricane season is June 1 through November 30 each year.
