NIH webinar explores proposed updates to Genomic Data Sharing Policy

The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has made it a priority to enable the use of research data to advance scientific discoveries while respecting participant privacy. Two weeks ago, NIH issued a notice seeking public comment on a proposed update to how it manages genomic summary results under the NIH Genomic Data Sharing Policy. The update would help support NIH's goals by allowing genomic summary results from most research studies to be provided via a public, rapid-access model.

On October 4, 2017, at 12:00 p.m. Eastern, Laura Rodriguez, Ph.D., director of the Division of Policy, Communication, and Education at the National Human Genome Research Institute, and Dina Paltoo, Ph.D., director of the Division of Scientific Data Sharing in the NIH Office of Science Policy, will host a webinar to provide an overview of the proposed updates and answer your questions about how this will impact you. Registration is required.
