DCPC Grantee Given Prestigious Presidential Award

Southcentral Foundation, an Alaska Native-owned nonprofit health care organization based in Anchorage, Alaska, was awarded the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award on November 16. The award, named for a former U.S. Secretary of Commerce, has been given every year since 1987 by the Department of Commerce to outstanding businesses. Southcentral, a grantee of CDC’s National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program, is the only health care organization to win the award twice—first in 2011. Southcentral Foundation will officially accept the award at a conference in April 2018.
