As 2018 approaches, a new slideshow highlights selected NIAID science news highlights of 2017. Among many accomplishments, NIAID scientists and NIAID-supported researchers made progress in developing vaccines and treatments for infectious diseases including Zika, HIV and malaria. In addition, new clinical guidelines to prevent peanut allergy, published in Jan. 2017, highlight how NIAID-supported research translates into clinical practice.
