Added text to state that one study showed that when CAM was discussed in an oncology visit, it was most often brought up by the patient; and that having such discussions was associated with greater satisfaction with the visit by both patient and physician (cited Roter et al. as reference 7).
Added Pan et al. as reference 2.
Added text to state that one study revealed lower levels of fatigue and inflammation in breast cancer survivors participating in a yoga program (cited Kiecolt-Glaser et al. as reference 3).
This summary is written and maintained by the PDQ Integrative, Alternative, and Complementary Therapies Editorial Board, which is editorially independent of NCI. The summary reflects an independent review of the literature and does not represent a policy statement of NCI or NIH. More information about summary policies and the role of the PDQ Editorial Boards in maintaining the PDQ summaries can be found on the About This PDQ Summary and PDQ® - NCI's Comprehensive Cancer Database pages.
