Integrative Medicine Research Lecture Series

If you have pain that doesn’t go away, where could you turn for help? Chances are, you’d see your primary care provider. Primary care clinicians play a key role in caring for patients with chronic pain, and they face many challenges when helping patients with this complex problem.

On Monday, April 23 at 11 a.m. ET, Dr. Erin Krebs of the University of Minnesota will speak at NIH about “Reframing the Primary Care Management of Chronic Pain.” Her presentation is part of NCCIH’s Integrative Medicine Research Lecture Series.

Dr. Krebs, who is currently leading two major studies on pain management and opioid therapy in veterans, will present on:

  • The characteristics and clinical needs of patients with chronic pain, including those receiving long-term opioid therapy
  • The implications of recent and ongoing research on managing chronic pain
  • Opportunities to improve pain management in primary care.

Join us in person on the National Institutes of Health (NIH) campus or watch via Videocast or on Facebook Live
